THE SINGLE RECORDS BY DORIS DAY THAT HIT THE TOP 100 ON CHARTS, ON JUKEBOXES, ON THE RADIO, IN SHEET MUSIC SALES AND ON DJ LISTS

Picture
In her recording career, Doris recorded over 600 songs. Add to that the songs she did as "Vocal Chorus by Doris Day" with the Les Brown Band, and you can add another hundred or so. Couple that with the many songs she sang on radio, TV shows and during concerts that were never released as singles, and we can add another 200 or more. With over 100 songs available, it is a feat when we have a hundred of them which made the top 100 singles.  (The albums are another story and on the  Studio Albums page).

* DENOTES MAJOR HIT/GOLD RECORD/MAJOR JUKEBOX HIT OR MORE
(SONGS ARE LISTED IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER)

**The numbers do not reflect how long various songs remained on the jukeboxes, where some remained (in some cases) for years! "Secret Love", "Que,Sera, Sera" and "If I Give My Heart To You" are still on some jukeboxes today!

VIEWING THE LIST OF TOP SINGLES, ONE MIGHT WONDER WHY THERE ARE SO FEW SONGS LISTED AS #1. SOURCES VARY, BUT GENERALLY SPEAKING, DORIS HAD ANYWHERE FROM 3 TO 12 #1 SONGS BUT MANY IN THE TOP 10. NOT SO WITH ALBUMS, WHICH IS ANOTHER STORY. THERE WAS A REASON WHY DORIS WAS THE THE MOST POPULAR FEMALE ALBUM SELLER OF THE 1950'S.  (Check our Studio Albums page)
