Modern Screen Magazine Awards
Here's Doris at the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony for James Cagney.
Ohio Women's Hall of Fame
Doris was inducted in the Ohio Women's Hall of Fame in 1981.
This is not an award per se, but in the annual nationwide poll of disc jockeys conducted by Billboard
magazine, Doris was named the top female vocalist in the U.S. in 1949,
1950, 1951, 1952, 1954, 1955, 1956, 1957, and 1958.
There have been numerous other awards presented to Doris over the years, especially to honor her untiring work for the welfare of animals. And some day, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences will wake up and give her an honorary achievement award for her work in the film industry. The Quigley Poll of Motion Picture Exhibitors still place her #1 of all females at the box office in history.
